Because of all the skilfully crafted details, the sculptures seem at once fragile and robust. It is an example of what filigree workmanship looks like. It takes about three months of patient, detailed, fine work to make each of these sculptures. The modern world has no interest any longer in this type of ornament. For this filigree craftsman, it is no longer profitable.
