Then, the scavengers emerged from the underworld. Instead of the sounds of machines, the factory now echoes with the sounds of digging, banging, scraping, tearing, demolishing. Ditches are dug, copper components are removed, wires, cables and metal parts are extracted, machines are dismantled for their parts. Everything that can be taken out, torn out, sawn or excavated will be sold as scrap. With the cessation of production, another kind of work goes on here, with other kinds of workers: clandestine scrap merchants. The factory is like a tortured, dying animal. All that remains is exploited to the maximum. The scavengers remove its mechanical heart, the wires through which electric blood flowed.
